About Gayle Bizzell

Hailed in the press as “Warm and vital…fiery…rapturously buoyant in her even-handed mix of skill and soul“, pianist Gayle Bizzell’s performance engagements have included concert halls throughout the country.

A native of Odessa, Texas, Ms. Bizzell earned her Bachelor of Music degree in piano performance from Texas State University at San Marcos. She chose to do her graduate work on full scholarship to New York University, citing her love for New York City as a deciding factor, and earned her Master of Arts degree in piano performance at that institution.

Subsequently, she was first place winner at auditions held by Artists International, the organization that sponsored her New York debut at Weill Recital Hall at Carnegie Hall. She then earned a Master of Music degree in piano performance at the Manhattan School of Music where she joined the faculty to teach piano and theory in the Preparatory Department.

As a teacher, Ms. Bizzell has developed an innovative and successful approach to keyboard technique. She has given seminars, lectures and master classes designed to help the pianist experience a natural fluency and ease at the keyboard, with unhindered musical expression and enjoyment of the activity being the ultimate goal.

She currently holds an Assistant Professor of Music position at Odessa College where she is Director of Piano Studies.
